As a Senior Hardware Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a pivotal role in building the backbone of Generative AI cloud infrastructure. This position focuses on designing, delivering, and operating AWS cloud offerings that enable high performance and scalability for AI/ML and High-Performance Computing (HPC) workloads. You will be part of a diverse team that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, all working together to ensure the cloud runs smoothly and efficiently. Your work will directly impact the continuous price performance improvements for AI model training, particularly for large language models (LLMs) with billions of variables. In this role, you will lead the design and development of a new segment of accelerated servers, collaborating closely with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals. You will leverage your experience in server design and work with various teams to architect scalable solutions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the entire lifecycle of the servers you develop, from design to deployment and ongoing monitoring of their performance in the data center. You will also interface with internal and external customers to gather project requirements and facilitate system development based on your server designs. This position requires a proactive approach to learning about operational challenges and improving customer experiences, as well as working directly with vendors and design teams to manufacture products at scale.
