About the position

The Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Sanmina will be responsible for designing high-performance optical data transceivers for AI, high-speed computing, and datacom markets. This role involves leading technical development with a multi-disciplinary team and addressing design challenges related to data rates, power density, and thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development with a multi-disciplinary team (electrical, PCB layout, mechanical, software, thermal, Signal Integrity, micro-electronic, and test engineering)
• PCB & Electrical design of electro-optical transceivers
• PCB design, including circuit design, schematic capture, and guiding the PCB layout engineer
• Work closely with Signal Integrity and Power Integrity engineers to simulate the performance of the design
• Determine the correct PCB materials, board stackup, and trace geometries needed to meet performance specs
• Power distribution and dissipation estimation and analysis
• Co-develop the HW/SW IO architecture with SW engineering
• Work closely with PCB fabricators and PCBA assemblers to ensure manufacturability
• Guide the test development team, planning, and perform engineering checkout of prototypes
• Participate in design reviews and regular status meetings
• Assist with project planning, estimation, and budgeting

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or relevant experience
• 12 years of design experience
• Strong and clear communicator, able to capture and communicate complex concepts
• Ability to work well with team members, suppliers, and partners
• Detail-oriented with high-quality outputs
