About the position

The Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer at Leggett & Platt Automotive will play a crucial role in the design, development, and validation of electronic hardware for automotive applications. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that product designs meet customer needs and comply with industry standards. The role emphasizes innovation, problem-solving, and adherence to best practices in engineering, all while promoting the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Promote company vision/mission, beliefs, behaviors, and safety vision to team members.
  • Complete various engineering efforts to design, prototype, and validate product design solutions.
  • Maintain regular contact with team and systems integration engineering on technical issues.
  • Participate actively in program core teams with defined engineering deliverables.
  • Develop engineered product solutions to meet customer needs using core part designs and technologies.
  • Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information and design details.
  • Ensure products are reviewed for best practices from a Design for Excellence (DFX) perspective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in an Automotive Embedded Hardware Product Design role.
  • Experience with project launch cycles for automotive.
  • Experience with schematic entry and PCB layout design tools (Cadence tool suite is an asset).
  • Knowledge of schematic design, layout design, design for EMC, and engineering calculations.
  • Knowledge of standard automotive communication bus hardware integration (e.g., LIN and CAN).
  • Knowledge of automotive APQP terms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and presentation skills.
