About the position

As a Senior Hardware Power Engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for managing power and energy consumption models, contributing to power architecture, and conducting power consumption characterization across various projects. This role involves collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to drive the engineering of consumer electronics products, including testing and optimization of complex embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power engineering, analog electronics, and microprocessor architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Own the power and energy consumption models for multiple projects.
  • Provide inputs to power architecture and conduct power consumption characterization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Design, Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Reliability, and Operations.
  • Conduct testing and optimization cycles of complex embedded systems in various use cases.
  • Write/update code to interface lab equipment with computers and automate testing processes.
  • Participate in schematic and layout reviews.
  • Address all aspects of power technology readiness, including manufacturability.
  • Help design and deliver innovative power technology to products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a hardware or systems engineer.
  • Experience with schematic and layout tools similar to OrCAD and Allegro.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, DC Analyzers, and DAQ systems.
  • Experience debugging power issues on embedded electronics devices.
  • Experience using LDOs, SMPS, and power distribution in embedded systems or power and energy consumption modeling and optimization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with project management of technical projects.
