About the position

As a Senior Hardware Software QA Engineer at Kohler Ventures, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our innovative products. Your primary responsibility will be to establish testing patterns and best practices that enhance our testing coverage in collaboration with engineering teams. You will conduct thorough technical reviews for new features, identifying any quality concerns that may arise during the development process. Your participation in various scrum meetings will be crucial, as you will provide valuable input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, estimates, and potential problems that could impact project timelines and deliverables. In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work three days a week onsite in either Palo Alto, CA, or New York City, NY. Responsibilities

  • Establish testing patterns and best practices to increase test coverage in partnership with engineers.
  • Conduct technical reviews for new features and identify quality concerns.
  • Participate in various scrum meetings to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, estimates, or potential problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software QA Engineer.
  • Experience with functional, regression, and end-to-end testing for hardware components.
  • Experience with test automation tools/frameworks for hardware/firmware validation.
  • Experience validating embedded firmware for IoT devices.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into test plans and develop test automations at all layers.
  • Availability to work outside of standard business hours to collaborate with teams and vendors across multiple time zones.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in hardware/firmware and information security for cloud and IoT devices.
  • Experience in development using script programming language, preferably Python.
