About the position

The Sr. Application Developer will be a key member of the HR Product Team at Pacific Life, responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting Workday integrations across various IT and business systems. This role involves evaluating integration requirements, providing solutions that align with enterprise strategies, and ensuring the functionality and availability of HR systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR technology tools and enterprise application integrations, with a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support Workday integrations across IT and business systems.
  • Evaluate new and existing systems to determine integration requirements.
  • Provide solutions utilizing services, workflows, and tools that align with enterprise strategies.
  • Support the portfolio of other HR solutions and ensure system availability and functionality.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and documentation for integration processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in integration technologies and AI/LLM integration.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of system architecture, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with cross-functional teams on projects.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in building integrations within the Workday ecosystem using cloud connectors, EIB, and Workday Studio.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • In-depth understanding of system architecture and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Thorough knowledge of HR technology tools and domain.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Established verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certification in Workday Pro Integration Administration and Workday Pro Studio.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Workday HCM and Workday Extend.
  • Familiarity with middleware platforms like MuleSoft and Snowflake.
  • Understanding of global HR landscape and HR functions.
