About the position

The Sr. HR Business Partner (HRBP) for AWS Databases will play a crucial role in supporting the Directors within the RDS Platform, RDS Commercial, and Data Migration Organization. This position focuses on driving organizational health, workforce planning, and inclusion initiatives while leveraging data to inform strategic HR decisions. The HRBP will partner with leadership to develop talent strategies and implement people plans that align with business goals, ensuring a thriving work environment for employees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement people plans and solutions to achieve people initiatives and deliver results for the global specialist organization.
  • Partner with leaders and their leadership teams to develop the talent strategy needed to support growth and build a thriving work environment.
  • Assess HR needs in performance management, talent acquisition, career development, diversity, and compensation/rewards.
  • Function as a consultant and counselor to key leaders, translating business needs into HR plans.
  • Partner with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment.
  • Review and analyze business metrics on retention and employee experience to recommend improvements.
  • Lead the Organization and Leadership Review focusing on succession planning and organizational health.
  • Provide compensation support including salary planning and job re-leveling.
  • Address employee relations issues fairly representing all interests.
  • Partner with the AWS talent acquisition team to build scalable recruiting programs.
  • Track and monitor progress of HR goals and ensure delivery of goals.
  • Create and scale programmatic solutions based on current and future needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in an HR generalist leadership role.
  • Strong judgment and experience coaching leaders.
  • Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory, including employee relations, learning, and performance management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including data visualization and facilitation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or MBA.
  • 5+ years' experience as a business partner driving organizational change initiatives.
  • Work experience in the tech industry.
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience leading global HR programs and change management.
  • Ability to diagnose issues and drive strategic solutions with self-initiative.
  • Ability to refine strategy and gain buy-in by influencing different levels of the organization.
