The Senior Human Resource Generalist plays a crucial role in managing HR-related duties at a professional level, working closely with the HR Manager to support designated facilities. This position serves as the first point of contact for employees regarding various human resource issues, including payroll, benefits, leave of absence, and compliance with labor laws. The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring that all HR functions are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to a positive work environment and supporting the overall organizational goals. Key responsibilities include payroll administration and maintaining the HRIS system, specifically ADP. The Senior HR Generalist acts as the primary point of contact for employees needing assistance with the ADP platform, ensuring they can access and utilize the site and app without issues. Additionally, this role involves managing Leave of Absence administration, which encompasses FMLA, NYS PFL, Workers Comp, and Short and Long Term Disability claims. The Senior HR Generalist also conducts recruitment efforts for both exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees. This includes creating and posting job advertisements through ADP and other recruitment sources, as well as partnering with temporary agencies to meet staffing needs. The role requires pre-screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks, along with onboarding new hires and conducting orientation sessions. Furthermore, the Senior HR Generalist assists with organizational training efforts related to HR policies and practices, compliance, and organizational development. This includes conducting training sessions for OSHA-related requirements and NYS Sexual Harassment Prevention. The position also involves advising management on resolving routine employee relations issues, investigating minor complaints, and ensuring timely and equitable resolutions. The Senior HR Generalist manages the performance review process, maintains affirmative action programs, and ensures compliance with EEO regulations. This role may also require assistance to affiliate companies when necessary, making it a versatile and dynamic position within the HR department.
