About the position

As a Senior Human Resource Specialist at Target, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Global Supply Chain and Logistics business. This position involves providing technical and administrative support to the HR team, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. You will be a strategic partner to both leaders and team members, facilitating employee orientation, managing compensation and benefits programs, and assisting with employee training. Your work will directly impact the experience of team members and the overall success of the distribution center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and administration of employment orientation.
  • Support execution of cyclical HR processes, including workers compensation and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State employment regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with staffing needs and ensure timely execution of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Coordinate employee training programs and maintain accurate training records.
  • Answer employee questions and escalate concerns to leadership as appropriate.
  • Participate in special projects, including coordination of cyclical processes and new initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of administrative experience.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and computer systems (e.g., Excel, Word, O365).
  • Strong customer/client service skills with effective communication abilities at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information and make fair, consistent decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a human resources role or related field.
