About the position

As a Senior Human Resource Specialist at Target, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR team within the Distribution and Receive Centers. This position involves maintaining employee records, managing employment orientation, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. You will also be responsible for executing compensation and benefits programs, assisting with employee training, and addressing employee inquiries. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR function, contributing to a positive workplace culture and supporting the overall goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and administrative support to the HR team by maintaining employee records accurately.
  • Administer employment orientation and ensure compliance with Federal and State employment regulations.
  • Support the execution of cyclical HR processes, including workers compensation and payroll.
  • Assist with staffing needs of the distribution center and ensure timely execution of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping practices and assist with employee inquiries regarding HR processes.
  • Coordinate employee training programs and maintain records of regulatory and corporate trainings.
  • Work on special projects related to building cyclical processes and new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support team members and enhance their experience during organizational changes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of administrative experience.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and computer systems (e.g., Excel, Word, O365).
  • Strong customer/client service skills with effective communication abilities (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated strong prioritization and organization skills, with the ability to anticipate problems and take action to resolve them.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Initiative to make fair and consistent decisions that align with company strategy and values.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and multi-task effectively.
