About the position

As a Senior Human Resource Specialist at Target, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Global Supply Chain and Logistics business by providing technical and administrative support to the HR team. This position involves maintaining employee records, managing employment orientation, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. You will be a strategic partner to both leaders and team members, helping to create a positive work environment and supporting the staffing needs of the distribution center. Your work will directly impact the experience of team members and the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and manage the administration of employment orientation.
  • Support the execution of cyclical HR processes, including compensation and benefits administration.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State employment regulations and company policies in all areas of employment.
  • Assist with payroll and maintain required record keeping practices.
  • Coordinate employee training programs and ensure timely execution and accurate record-keeping of trainings.
  • Answer employee questions and escalate concerns to leadership as appropriate.
  • Participate in special projects, including coordination of cyclical processes and new initiatives.
  • Work efficiently both individually and as part of a team, sharing ideas and adapting to change.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of administrative experience.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and computer systems (e.g., Excel, Word, O365).
  • Strong customer/client service skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills, with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a human resources role or related field.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
