About the position

As a Senior Human Resource Specialist at Target, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global Supply Chain and Logistics business. This position is essential in building the best teams and infusing Target's distinctive retail brand into our HR practices. You will be a strategic partner to both leaders and team members, positively impacting the experience of employees in distribution centers across the Target network. Your responsibilities will include providing technical and administrative support to the HR team, maintaining accurate employee records, and managing the administration of employment orientation, compensation, and benefits. You will also support the execution of cyclical processes, workers' compensation, payroll, and ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations. In this role, you will interact with team members at various levels within the organization, as well as external candidates. You will ensure that staffing needs are met by facilitating employee orientation and compliance with company policies in all areas of employment, including hiring, promotions, transfers, resignations, and terminations. Additionally, you will oversee the timely execution of compensation and benefits programs, assist with employee training, and maintain accurate records of regulatory and corporate trainings. Your ability to answer employee questions and escalate concerns to leadership will be crucial in fostering a supportive work environment. As a Senior HR Specialist, you will also be involved in special projects, including the coordination of cyclical processes and new initiatives. Your role requires you to work efficiently both individually and as part of a team, sharing ideas and adapting to change. Reporting to work on time and completing tasks accurately and on time will contribute to the overall success of the distribution center. You will be a key strategic partner for leadership and a valuable resource for team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their business goals. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and administrative support to the HR team by maintaining employee records accurately.
  • Administer employment orientation and manage compensation and benefits processes.
  • Support the execution of cyclical HR processes, including workers' compensation and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations and company policies in all areas of employment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of administrative experience.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and computer systems (e.g., Excel, Word, O365).
  • Strong customer/client service skills with the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to anticipate problems, demonstrate strong prioritization and organization skills, and take action to complete tasks accurately and on time.

  • Ability to take initiative and make fair and consistent decisions that align with company strategy and values.
