About the position

As a Senior Human Resource Specialist at Target, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Human Resources team within our Distribution and Receive Centers. This position is essential in ensuring that our HR operations run smoothly and efficiently, directly impacting the overall success of our logistics and supply chain functions. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, administering employment orientation, and supporting various HR processes including compensation and benefits administration, workers' compensation, payroll, and compliance with federal and state employment regulations. Your role will require you to interact with team members at various levels within the organization, as well as with external candidates, ensuring that our staffing needs are met effectively. In this position, you will also oversee the execution of employee training programs, ensuring that all regulatory and corporate training requirements are met in a timely manner. You will be a key resource for team members, providing guidance and support to help them navigate organizational changes and achieve their business goals. Additionally, you will be involved in special projects that may include the coordination of cyclical processes and new initiatives aimed at enhancing our HR operations. Your ability to work both independently and collaboratively will be crucial, as you will need to adapt to changing business needs while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude. Your contributions will not only support the HR team but will also enhance the overall employee experience at Target, making a significant impact on how team members perceive and engage with the organization. As a Senior HR Specialist, you will be a strategic partner to leadership, helping to build and nurture the teams that drive our success in the retail marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and make fair, consistent decisions aligned with company values.
