About the position

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist at The Jamar Company plays a pivotal role in partnering with the HR Director and organizational leaders to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives. This position is designed for an individual who is not only knowledgeable in HR processes but also possesses the ability to provide direct support and guidance to the HR Generalist. The role encompasses consultation and guidance for all HR processes, practices, and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Sr. HR Generalist will work closely with business leaders to formulate and implement HR strategies that are aligned with the company's growth objectives, particularly in areas such as acquisitions, total compensation, and organizational effectiveness. In this role, the Sr. HR Generalist is expected to fully understand the business priorities and define the necessary processes or tools to achieve the desired outcomes. Staying abreast of current trends in HR and anticipating their impact on internal practices is crucial. The individual must demonstrate self-initiative and a drive to produce quality and timely outcomes on strategic items and projects. The position requires a professional demeanor when interacting with department leaders, employees, and applicants, ensuring that all interactions are in accordance with company policy, practice, and applicable laws while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. The Sr. HR Generalist will lead various HR and organizational initiatives, including system changes, policy compliance, training, and compensation strategies. This includes partnering with the HR Generalist to ensure that department job descriptions are accurate and up-to-date, conducting market analysis for position descriptions, and recommending salary ranges and structures. The role also involves conducting job analyses for new positions and those with significant changes, determining the appropriateness of titles, and consulting with leaders on any recommended changes. Additionally, the Sr. HR Generalist will support payroll and HRIS initiatives, keeping up with current issues related to the HR department and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR Director and organizational leaders to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to the HR Generalist on HR processes, practices, and policies.
  • Consult with business leaders to develop HR strategies focused on company growth and acquisitions.
  • Define processes or tools to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Stay informed about current HR trends and anticipate their impact on internal practices.
  • Interact professionally with department leaders, employees, and applicants, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Lead HR and organizational initiatives, including system changes, policy compliance, training, and compensation.
  • Ensure department job descriptions are accurate and align with similar positions and practices.
  • Conduct market analysis and evaluation of position descriptions, recommending salary ranges and structures.
  • Create salary ranges for company locations and recommend range classifications.
  • Conduct job analysis of new positions and those with significant changes, determining appropriateness of titles.
  • Support administrative payroll and HRIS initiatives and other data systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • Five years of work experience as an HR Generalist, or seven years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources.
  • One year of experience with corporate compensation programs and analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to define process improvements and influence needed changes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs, Recruitment Management Software, and Human Resources Management Systems.
  • Valid State Driver's license and ability to travel to business locations or events.
