As a Sr. Human Resources Generalist at our Distribution Facility in Midway, Georgia, you will play a pivotal role in supporting all HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, health and safety, organizational capability, compensation, employee relations, and leadership development. Your contributions will help ensure that our HR services are accessible and of high quality, fostering an environment where employees can thrive. In this role, you will partner with various stakeholders to manage projects and programs that engage and recognize workforce performance. You will be responsible for implementing and communicating company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and managing employee relations matters. Your expertise will be crucial in coaching employees on policy applications, conflict resolution, and change management, promoting a fair and equitable workplace. Additionally, you will facilitate HR administration, oversee the performance management process, and manage the recruitment process from job postings to candidate selection. You will also handle the New Hire Induction process, maintain organization charts, and ensure compliance with employee record management. Your role will involve preparing HR-related documents for data entry and completing employment verifications, among other duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Partner in managing projects, programs and practices that engage, inspire, and recognize workforce performance.
  • Implement and communicate company policies and procedures and collective bargaining agreement procedures to managers and team members.
  • Ensure health and safety practices are adhered to and meet compliance standards.
  • Manage leave of absence and work compensation claims timely and appropriately.
  • Handle employee relation matters for the Office and Facility.
  • Coach employees on policy and procedure applications, employment/labor laws, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • Facilitate HR administration, including initiatives based on changes in compliance regulations.
  • Oversee the performance management process and other talent management processes, organizational assessment, learning strategies, and leadership development.
  • Manage the recruitment process including job postings, phone screenings, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference and background checks.
  • Manage the New Hire Induction process for Corporate and Bargaining Unit team members.
  • Work with HR Director and VP of Distribution to resolve complex HR issues.
  • Maintain and update organization charts as needed.
  • Create and maintain accurate job descriptions for every position, including Savannah Bargaining Unit positions.
  • Manage labor, health & safety posters and employee record compliance.
  • Complete employment verifications and letters of employment.
  • Prepare all HR related documents for HRIS entry (PAFs) and SAP data input.
  • Complete PAF's and PAFT's for all corporate employees.
  • Perform other duties, research, and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Psychology preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Generalist experience, preferably with Union experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees.
  • Knowledge of HR employment related laws/practices.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
