About the position

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist - Supply Chain plays a crucial role in supporting the HR functions at the Regional Fulfillment Center in Sacramento, California, and Portland, Oregon. This position focuses on onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance programs, ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment. The role involves collaboration with local leadership to execute people plans and develop training programs, while also managing employee engagement and relations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the local leadership team to execute people plans from hiring, onboarding, performance management to training and development
  • Responsible for effectively onboarding new hires through facilitation of New Employee Orientation and Benefit Orientation
  • Oversee pre-hire and new hire processes including background checks, and drug screenings
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to advise on employee relations, performance management, policies, and other related topics
  • Partner with site leadership team on creating development and action plans to drive employee performance
  • Responsible for training managers and supervisors in the proper administration of employment law and Grocery Outlet policies
  • Work with Regional Fulfillment Center leaders on developing and implementing employee engagement programs
  • Partner with HR and other departments to align on content delivery of training, either electronically or in-person
  • Partner with the Benefits team to manage leaves and ADA accommodations, including the interactive process
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings with supply chain leaders
  • Support in recruitment efforts
  • Support in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Compile various presentations in PowerPoint and present information effectively to all levels of leadership
  • Manage employee relations and investigations. Partner with HR Director as necessary and complex
  • Support with the execution of mid-year and annual performance review cycles including ratings, calibrations, and performance feedback
  • Occasional travel as needed
  • Additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years in human resources
  • Warehouse/Regional Fulfillment Center experience preferred
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and navigate in a rapidly changing environment
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws for CA
  • Ability to conduct Harassment Training per State of California guidelines
  • Ability to use good judgement, often in pressure-filled and time-sensitive settings
  • High attention to detail and an ownership mindset for solving employee challenges
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems. Experience with UKG Pro a plus
  • Effective communication skills including written and verbal skills
  • Strong collaborative skills, with a strong ability to build relationships
