About the position

The Sr. Human Resources Specialist for Advanced Technology and Life Sciences at Fluor plays a pivotal role in supporting the Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the business line. This position is integral to the consultation process regarding HR practices and policies tailored for specific client groups or disciplines. The responsibilities encompass a wide range of HR functions, including the administration of HR policies and procedures that directly affect employees. The specialist may also take on leadership roles in special HR projects, ensuring that the HR initiatives align with the strategic goals of the organization. In this role, the specialist will interface with various groups both within and outside the organization, including other HR departments, Strategic Business Units (SBUs), and external vendors. Effective communication and collaboration are essential, particularly within a globally diverse environment. The specialist will maintain a close working relationship with discipline management to ensure that HR services are executed effectively and that the needs of the company are met. Establishing a strong relationship with the direct manager and colleagues as a discipline expert is also a key aspect of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary, reflecting the dynamic nature of the HR function. Candidates should be prepared for background checks as part of any conditional offer, which may include verification of education, professional registration, employment history, references, and other relevant checks. The position requires candidates to be authorized to work in the country where it is located, ensuring compliance with local employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all applicable Human Resource policies and procedures affecting employees
  • Function as a team leader or group participant on special Human Resource projects
  • Interface with groups inside and outside the organization, including other HR departments, Strategic Business Units (SBUs), projects, and vendors
  • Communicate and work collaboratively within the context of a globally diverse environment
  • Maintain a close working relationship with discipline management to ensure that services are properly executed and the needs of the company are met

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (7) years of work-related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eleven (11) years if non-degreed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Capable of pulling analytics and analyzing data, providing trends and recommendations

Nice-to-haves

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in HR, Psychology, Education, Business, Finance or related field
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, or applicable HR accreditation
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, judgment, and conflict resolution skills
