Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly’s largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the startup team for a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the processes and facility to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the facilities at the Lebanon Plant 1 API Manufacturing site.
  • Ensure facility infrastructure and systems are compliant and fit for use.
  • Design, install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
  • Maintain HVAC/Utilities programs up to date with industry standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Support daily operations including equipment troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis.
  • Design and develop HVAC systems for process and industrial applications.
  • Perform load calculations for HVAC systems.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and drawings for HVAC installations.
  • Oversee installation commissioning and maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and trend system critical operational parameters.
  • Meet site objectives in small capital project delivery and plant engineering support.
  • Work with process engineers to improve regulatory compliance, reliability, and safety.
  • Initiate and introduce standards, tools, procedures, safety, cGMP and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain engineering specifications, standards, and equipment work instructions.
  • Maintain energy management program and ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Review inspections of building systems to ensure operation within design capabilities.
  • Provide technical expertise for change management and small capital project coordination.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Hazard and Operability Study.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in HVAC design, installation, and maintenance in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Previous experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, and air handling units.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 4+ years extensive progressive chemical process and plant experience.
  • Emergency Response or Emergency Operations Center Experience.
  • Previous experience in facility/area start-up environments.
  • Ability to prioritize, set objectives and meet targets.
  • Ability to provide high level customer service.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience with GMARS, Service Insight, GECMS, TrackWise, Veeva Vault, Serra view, Spar Requests, Asset Recovery, Lilly Stores, Delta V, Metasys BMS, Coupa Purchase Orders, E-peers, B-Safe, Gensuite, and SAGE Steam Monitoring.
