About the position

The Sr. Industrial Engineer at Lowe's is responsible for enhancing supply chain performance through productivity, accuracy, capacity, and efficiency improvements. This role involves managing large-scale automation and robotics projects, conducting business analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive supply chain transformation. The engineer will leverage data analysis and engineering tools to develop innovative solutions and engage with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

  • Ideate, develop, manage, and execute multimillion-dollar automation and robotics network improvement projects.
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodology to assess key performance indicators and establish project objectives.
  • Lead internal and external cross-functional project teams.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects.
  • Manage several technology and automation projects simultaneously while providing technical leadership for larger scale projects.
  • Communicate with and influence key decision-makers and senior leadership within the organization.
  • Benchmark industry studies and partner with key vendors to recommend new automation and robotics technologies.
  • Lead ideation and implementation of network-wide automation solutions.
  • Gather and analyze data to develop innovative solutions to operational issues.
  • Lead facility layout design and ergonomic studies to increase productivity while maintaining safety.
  • Develop financial cost benefit analyses and financial models to support project requirements and designs.
  • Act as a mentor and advisor to other engineers and provide training and development to peers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in industrial engineering and retail distribution with a performance-based culture.
  • 3 years of experience in facility layout and project/capital justification.
  • 3 years of experience implementing automation and robotics technologies.
  • 3 years of experience with a warehouse management system.
  • 3 years of experience managing a cross-functional project from conception to implementation.
  • Proven experience managing multiple and competing priorities.
  • Experience in adapting and integrating new technology and automation in a complex supply chain environment.
  • Experience in driving new ideas and technology in a complex and dynamic supply chain setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience.
