As an Industrial Engineer at Tesla, the primary responsibility is to optimize the manufacturing and material flow process by leveraging a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and collaborating with internal and external teams. This data will be used to optimize gross margin through capacity improvement and streamline operations. Furthermore, the IE will require leading layout and space readiness initiatives for existing line optimization and new line installations, including 2D CAD design, merging new lines and products into existing operations, and expanding the factory footprint. The Industrial Engineer provides high-quality decision support using Excel analysis, discrete event simulation, linear programming, and other operations research methods. The role will require supporting structured problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as developing business cases for capital expense projects. These efforts will ensure the factory operates at the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.
