About the position

The Sr Industrial Engineer at ZT Systems is responsible for developing and implementing industrial models and analytical tools that support manufacturing decision-making. This role focuses on data visualization and collaboration with various teams to transform data into actionable insights, driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and implementation of industrial models and analytical tools for manufacturing decision making.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing stakeholders to define the roadmap for resource and infrastructure changes.
  • Focus on data visualization to enable quick decision making for the production team.
  • Turn data into information, information into insights, and insights into key business decisions.
  • Analyze manufacturing data sets using business intelligence tools.
  • Ingest projects and requests from end-to-end, defining business needs and communicating insights to stakeholders.
  • Interface with multiple departments to conduct analyses that drive valuable business insights.
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness and scope of industrial models and analytical tools.
  • Drive enterprise-level Kaizen and continuous improvement projects targeting key production metrics.
  • Collect and compile data, conduct experiments, and develop plans for improvements.
  • Evaluate manufacturing system change proposals and collaborate with manufacturing engineering for implementation.
  • Develop management systems for cost analysis of new products and manufacturing methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years relevant experience in an engineering role.
  • Experience with data visualization, preferably Tableau.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in analysis tools such as SQL and Tableau, or equivalents.
  • Competence in mathematical computing with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Java).
  • Proficiency in presentation skills, simplifying results and statistical concepts into actionable insights.
  • Ability to convert complex data-driven topics into clear overviews and insights.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and lean programs.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
