About the position

L3Harris is searching for a talented Industrial Engineer to support the production of next generation, high-speed avionics and space hardware. This position will focus on implementing Industrial Engineering tools and methodologies to systematically analyze and improve the manufacturing of high-performance avionics hardware including Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA), Sub-Assemblies and Chassis assemblies. Proven experience with the application of cornerstone Industrial Engineering academic analytical topics, methodologies, and tools is imperative. The role involves collecting and analyzing data to support studies pertaining to any manufacturing or operations system, including cost reduction, lead time optimization, capacity planning, and machine utilization. The successful candidate will be able to create, utilize, or implement data modeling to support a data-driven approach to problem solving. Additionally, the engineer will analyze, model, and plan daily logistics and workflow to ensure maximized manufacturing and test throughput. Effective communication with internal and external customers is essential, as is the ability to support facility planning and layout for manufacturing and test facilities. The engineer will also need to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and specifications to plan a manufacturing process based on these requirements. Continuous improvement ideas will be provided and implemented to drive out waste while increasing safety and quality. The role requires interfacing with complex hardware including circuit card assemblies, microelectronic assemblies, cable harnesses, and higher-level system assemblies. Automation of manual processes will be a key responsibility, along with supporting root cause and corrective action processes. The engineer will work alongside Program Management, Project Engineering, Operations Leadership, Quality, Test, and Reliability Engineering functions to achieve common program and operational goals, prioritizing and executing in an environment of many concurrent tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes data to support studies pertaining to any manufacturing/operations system including cost reduction, lead time optimization, capacity planning, machine utilization, inventory control, etc.
  • Creates, utilizes, or implements data modeling to support a data-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Analyzes, models, and plans daily logistics and workflow to ensure maximized manufacturing and test throughput.
