About the position
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will focus on equipment improvement, manufacturing building moves, flow optimization, Lean principles, and process improvement. This role is crucial for leading the enhancement and deployment of equipment in both new and existing facilities, supporting the company's expansion efforts. The engineer will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving processes within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing and process control methodologies.
- Analyze workflows to identify optimization opportunities and cost savings.
- Develop process improvements for fabrication and assembly, providing ongoing technical support.
- Implement visual management tools and performance metrics to track progress.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize best practices.
- Plan and coordinate the relocation of manufacturing operations to new facilities.
- Develop detailed move plans including equipment layout and workflow optimization.
- Lead the design and layout of new manufacturing facilities with a focus on sustainability.
- Conduct post-move evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
- Support Manufacturing, Materials Management, and other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in metal stamping and fabrication.
- Ten years of related experience and/or training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient problem-solving and multitasking skills.
- Strong desire to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD or Solid Works.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in manufacturing.
