About the position

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will focus on equipment improvement, manufacturing building moves, flow optimization, Lean principles, and process improvement. This role is crucial in leading the enhancement and deployment of equipment in both new and existing facilities, supporting business expansion. The engineer will also design, implement, and improve processes within the facilities, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement projects through lean manufacturing and process control.
  • Develop process improvements for fabrication and assembly.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for manufacturing systems.
  • Analyze workflows to identify optimization opportunities and cost savings.
  • Ensure projects are completed on-time and on budget.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Implement visual management tools and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize best practices.
  • Perform studies on downtime, line balancing, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Design product line layouts and route plans.
  • Conduct work simplification studies to improve labor efficiencies.
  • Maintain engineering changes, bills of materials, and quality documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate the relocation of manufacturing operations.
  • Lead the design and layout of new manufacturing facilities.
  • Work with vendors for equipment refurbishment and commissioning.
  • Conduct post-move evaluations and implement improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent in metal stamping and fabrication.
  • Ten years of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow with a proactive attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar software.
  • Familiarity with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.

  • Experience in project management.

  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies.
