About the position

The Senior Information Architect is responsible for providing advanced technical support in data architecture, data modeling, and database management. This role involves collaborating with team members to deliver data architecture at the project level, designing databases, and ensuring compliance with data integration strategies. The position is fully remote for candidates residing in the EST or CST time zones and is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for delivery of data architecture at the project level, consulting and collaborating with team members.
  • Designs tables and databases for Transactional, Data Warehouses, and Multidimensional Databases.
  • Produces conceptual, logical, and physical data models, holding authority and ownership over these models.
  • Reviews, assesses, and enhances vendor data and message models.
  • Produces conceptual, logical, and physical message models, maintaining authority and ownership.
  • Ensures data architecture and design conform to reference architecture and compliance rules.
  • Assures data integration architecture aligns with Enterprise Data and Data Integration Strategy.
  • Develops strategic data integration architecture direction and provides a comprehensive roadmap for data integration needs.
  • Provides technical leadership for data integration and ETL architecture, design, and development.
  • Collaborates with other Architects to ensure quality of project requirements and design deliverables.
  • Leads and participates in project architecture design sessions and architecture reviews.
  • Mentors other data modelers and architects in resolving information flow and content issues.
  • Advises teams on data quality improvements and minimizes redundancy in enterprise data.
  • Assists project managers in recognizing and mitigating risks to solutions and data platforms.
  • Updates job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional organizations.
  • Defines data integration artifacts including transformation and mapping rules.
  • Participates in data governance processes and business requirement sessions.
  • Contributes to project planning and estimating sessions.
  • Creates data validation rules and scenarios for QA/test plans.
  • Conducts software evaluations and strategic activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis, or a related field.
  • 8-12 years of overall Information systems experience, with 5+ years in data architecture and related fields.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of financial analysis and models.
  • Familiarity with basic graphical modeling approaches.
  • Basic Big Data Hadoop skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional training or certification in Business Intelligence/Data related areas is highly desirable.
