About the position

At Bath & Body Works, the Senior Instructional Designer of Strategic Selling plays a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience in stores through the development and evaluation of innovative learning solutions. This position is dedicated to building, developing, and implementing training resources that support the evolving needs of the field organization. The designer will work closely with cross-functional partners to conceptualize and deliver effective learning strategies that drive results. The role emphasizes collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to ensure that the training content is tailored to the target audience's needs, ultimately leading to improved performance and customer satisfaction. The Senior Instructional Designer will assess and identify an evolved selling model in partnership with the Strategic Selling Manager, focusing on enhancing the customer experience. This involves creating a variety of training resources, including videos, eLearning modules, instructor-led sessions, and reference materials, aimed at building and sustaining field knowledge and behaviors related to future selling strategies. The designer will also gather feedback consistently to identify gaps and recommend solutions that align with business objectives. In addition to content creation, the role requires leveraging project management skills to develop detailed project plans that track milestones, deliverables, and communication cadences. The designer will influence and partner with field leaders to ensure that learning solutions are relevant and effective for various roles within the organization, including District Sales Leaders and store-level associates. This position is integral to fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence within Bath & Body Works.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, identify, and implement an evolved selling model that enhances the customer experience in partnership with the Strategic Selling Manager.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), field partners, and stakeholders to understand target audience and content needs for learning outcomes.
  • Create innovative training resources, including videos, eLearnings, instructor-led meetings, and reference materials, to support future selling strategies.
  • Provide a field-led filter to learning solutions, including role-specific training for District Sales Leaders and store-level associates.
  • Gather feedback consistently to assess gaps and recommend solutions to improve results.
  • Leverage project management fundamentals to build detailed project plans with tracking, milestones, and communication cadences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability in instructional design or creating learning content via different modes of delivery.
  • Retail background, with store selling/operations experience preferred.
  • Proven success in establishing rapport with business partners at multiple levels and working collaboratively on larger teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and capable of leading multiple complex projects.
  • Ability to identify issues/opportunities and drive alignment and prioritization.
  • Strong communication skills, including listening, probing for understanding, and articulating messages clearly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Articulate Storyline and Rise, and Adobe Creative Suites applications.
