About the position

The Sr. Instructional Systems Designer (Sr. ISD) is responsible for designing innovative learning products that are instructionally sound, accurate, and engaging. This role will lead the development and delivery of online training, educational resources/tools, and other content for a large government healthcare agency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage multiple tasks across various projects, and collaborate with diverse teams and subject matter experts to create clear and concise training products tailored to the target audience. In this position, the Sr. ISD will have general project management responsibilities, which include monitoring the project status of individual tasks and deliverables, and ensuring adherence to timelines for project milestones. The individual will be the lead for developing, designing, and delivering training courses required by the client, employing the ADDIE Model to produce high-quality web-based and streaming solutions. The Sr. ISD will work closely as part of a dynamic team that includes technical writers, technical editors, e-learning developers, instructional designers, graphic artists, animators, narrators, subject matter experts, quality assurance personnel, and document specialists. The role requires effective communication and direct collaboration with the client on development efforts. The Sr. ISD will create analysis and design documents based on job task and user analysis, serving as the main point of contact for Hendall's quality assurance review personnel and SMEs who review course content and presentation prior to delivery and implementation of the courses. Additionally, the Sr. ISD will ensure that training products comply with applicable guidance and regulations, including SCORM, FISMA, and Sections 508 and 504, as well as style guides. The individual will manage the creative and technical content for individual training courses, which includes responding to client issues, client feedback, and providing input for modifications to course content and activities. Attendance at all workshops, training events, and client meetings is required, along with performing other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, instructional design, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in instructional design, project management, and training and development.

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and ability to incorporate them into class design and delivery.
