About the position
The Sr. Instrumentation / Controls Engineer will oversee the deliverables of multiple concurrent projects from concept design to the completion of final project drawings. This role involves specifying controls equipment and instrumentation, conducting engineering analyses, and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards in the design of energy facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering analysis/calculations for electrical elements including instrument index, data sheets, and specifications.
- Lead controls engineering on projects and participate in client meetings.
- Coordinate project-specific deliverables with team members across disciplines.
- Conduct quality reviews of drawings to ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Perform QA/QC of drawing deliverables and respond to project RFIs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review third-party vendor drawings for compatibility with intended design.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of work experience in engineering, preferably in the midstream energy or petrochemical sector.
- Strong attention to detail and process orientation with a focus on accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA 70, and API RP 500 codes/standards.
