About the position

The Sr. Interior Designer at LK Architecture will develop design solutions and provide project coordination across all project phases, from concept through construction. This role involves creating impactful experiences in various markets including hospitality, healthcare, and residential. The designer will collaborate with a team to ensure that projects meet client needs and adhere to design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client's needs, goals, and safety requirements and integrate findings with knowledge of interior design in accordance with codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with the Design Director/VP and project team(s) on the entire project, including layout drawings, color coordination, furniture selection, and design concept.
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
  • Produce graphic presentations and working/construction documents for non-load bearing interior construction and ensure compliance with accessibility guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain client work files containing records of correspondence, design sketches, and schedules.
  • Prepare and administer bids and contract documents as the client's agent with manufacturers/vendors.
  • Review and evaluate design solutions during implementation and upon completion.
  • Maintain accurate details of hours worked on each job with breakdown of job tasks.
  • Attend or facilitate site visits, client meetings, and presentations.
  • Supervise, develop, and provide mentorship of young staff members.
  • Maintain client confidence and good relations, keeping clients informed of project status.
  • Continue personal education through seminars and professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of design theories, materials, and color with comprehensive knowledge of design standards.
  • Strong experience in management and coordination of construction drawing sets and FF&E specifications.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Bachelors Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of professional commercial design experience, preferably in your specialty.
  • NCIDQ or CID certified is required to be titled Interior Designer, in good standing.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCad, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
