About the position

We are looking for talented Interior Designers and Exterior Designers to join our team at Kyyba Inc. This position is open for candidates interested in either role, and we encourage applicants to apply for the one that best fits their skills and interests. As a designer, you will promote and advise stakeholders on a user-centric approach while applying automotive design methodologies to validate and inform design decisions. You will be responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders, including Brand, Commercial, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, to ensure that design proposals align with project goals and stakeholder expectations. In this role, you will utilize your software skills in the latest versions of Automotive Design and 2D/3D development tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Alias, and Blender. You will design and create a wide variety of Exterior Design proposals based on project definitions and requests from individual stakeholders. This includes producing sketches, digital models, visual illustrations, prototypes, and animations. You will also be involved in the visual design of component and customization systems, products, services, and APIs that are responsive or adaptive for Aftermarket Strategies. Your designs will be research-driven and data-informed, ensuring they meet users' needs and motivations. You will perform closed-loop validation of Interior and Exterior Design with product development teams and key partners, visually defining ideas, design decisions, and appearance recommendations to senior-level stakeholders. This position requires a strong background in automotive or industrial design, with a focus on creating innovative and user-friendly designs that enhance the overall user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and advise stakeholders on a user-centric approach and apply automotive design methodologies to validate and inform design decisions.

  • Design and create a wide variety of Exterior Design proposals based on project definitions and requests from individual stakeholders, including sketches, digital models, visual illustrations, prototypes, and animations.
  • Visual design of component and customization systems, products, services, and API - responsive or adaptive for Aftermarket Strategies.
  • Create research-driven, data-informed designs that meet users' needs and their motivations.
  • Perform closed-loop validation of Interior & Exterior Design with product development teams and key partners.
  • Visually define ideas, design decisions, and appearance recommendations to senior-level stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in automotive or industrial design, or comparable degree.
  • 5-10 years professional work experience as an automotive designer, industrial designer, or similar transportation and vehicle-related role.
  • Excellent command of visual communication and evaluation along with a thorough knowledge of 2D illustration and 3D development tools is a must.
  • Ability to write verbal descriptions of automotive design.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping tools (i.e., milling, 3D printing, etc.).
  • Exhibit passion for emerging technologies related to vehicle design.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in both writing and speaking the English language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in automotive or industrial design.
  • Ability to generate 3D digital sketch models via Alias or Blender.
  • Successfully contributing to the completion of a production program is a plus.
  • Experience in automotive or consumer products industries in the capacity of design or ergonomic-related fields.
  • Experience working within an agile development process.
  • Proficient in various design disciplines (Photography, Visual Design, Information Architecture, Content Strategy, Interaction Design, Usability, User Research, Product Design).
