About the position

The Sr. Internal Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in helping employees understand the company's strategy, goals, and objectives through the effective creation of communication collateral and management of key communication vehicles. This position is integral to the Internal Communications team, providing support for senior communication team members and executive stakeholders while executing organizational, regional, and functional strategic communication agendas. The Specialist will partner with executive stakeholders, including executive directors and above, acting as an advisor to create, execute, and manage communication strategies that drive the organizational charter. This includes highlighting the risks and benefits associated with proposed strategies and tactical responses. In addition to strategic communication planning, the Sr. Communication Specialist will be responsible for planning and executing communication strategies for organizational changes, crisis communication, technology/people strategy, and events. This includes high-profile events such as the company's annual Global Summit, regional/product-specific meetings, leadership meetings, and executive staff calls. The role also involves managing regional communication channels, including communication councils, intranet content, and emerging social media platforms like Yammer. The Specialist will gather and summarize employee feedback on communication effectiveness after key communication events and share insights with executive stakeholders as appropriate. Furthermore, the role requires designing and developing communication collateral, including presentations, talking points, emails, fact sheets, and e-newsletters to achieve specific objectives. The Specialist will also design and produce graphic art and visual materials, including videos, to support communication events and presentations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A college graduate with 3-5 years of related work experience in communication, strategy, graphic design, or writing.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience partnering on communication initiatives with senior level executives.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint; experience with web content management software is ideal.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand complex business information and communicate key messages effectively.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that values creativity and accountability.
