About the position

The Sr Inventory Analyst at Atlas Air, Inc. plays a crucial role in inventory analysis and program administration, supporting all customers and fleet types. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize the flow of unserviceable materials into the repair cycle, managing multi-million dollar agreements, and ensuring efficient replenishment of aircraft materials. The analyst is responsible for evaluating provisioning models and implementing strategies to achieve operational and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Manager in the development, execution and management strategies for unserviceable parts management while ensuring a balance between operational performance (Dispatch Reliability) and financial objectives.
  • Identifies new component repair strategies and leads implementation in collaboration with Procurement and Component Repair teams.
  • Performs Repair vs Replace analysis to ensure most economical supply of serviceable inventory to support aircraft maintenance and overall material service level.
  • Identifies warranty opportunities through the unserviceable disposition process and collaborates to claim credits for rotable repair spend accounts.
  • Reviews all invoices related to parts pooling agreements to ensure accuracy, contract compliance and fair charges. Disputes and negotiates as needed.
  • Administers a surplus/stale inventory process to ensure a lean inventory holding and increased sales revenue.
  • Reviews history of component for removal times and repair history and communicates with reliability/engineering teams to remove low performing inventory.
  • Responsible for the planning and administration, at optimum balance of cost, quality, and supplier service of material required to support aircraft maintenance.
  • Manage PBH/pooling agreements, maximizing utilization for pool components.
  • Fiduciary duty for the airline overall financial health, safety, security and compliance by allocating and strategic planning of aircraft material requirements.
  • Provision for Station allocation with lists of Airframe and Engine parts based on Recommended Spare Parts List (RSPL), Installed data, historic demand, and future flight plan. Ensure replenishment is completed in a timely manner.
  • Capable of using Boeing math model to calculate optimal spare allocation and proficient in explaining the statistical output.
  • Oversee Loan and Delay review process. Provide recommendations to prevent repeat loaners and mitigate delays.
  • Ability to read Engineering Order (EO), Service Bulletins (SB) and Airworthiness Directives (AD) publications. Perform cost-benefit analysis with Engineering to make sure the latest technologies is applicable to the fleet with the right part number setup based on interchangeability and effectivity. Deactivate obsolete part number in the system.
  • Allocate aircraft parts. Review recommendation to allocate critical parts based on historic usage and forecasted flight pattern.
  • Assign reorder level requisitions to stores, repairs, or technical procurement to ensure allocations are filled in a timely and the most economic manner.
  • Monitor department KPIs and provide detailed feedback on negative trends to Management.
  • Communicate and resolve Aircraft material issues with Engineering, Maintenance, Maintenance Planning, and Quality Control.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for new process improvement opportunities. Maintain and refine existing SOPs with flowcharts, worksheets and reference documents.
  • Works with supply chain analysts to ensure best practices are captured and implemented.
  • Maintains a high-degree of cross-divisional exposure and interaction from frontline employees to senior leadership.
  • Assists in the workload in the absence of team members as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Inventory Management, and Manager of Inventory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis or Business Administration preferred.
  • 5+ years Airline Supply Chain Management, Inventory Analysis, Material Planning, and/or Purchasing.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related aviation field I.E Engineering, Maintenance, Maintenance Planning, Operations, etc.
  • Deep knowledge in supply chain processes: component life cycle management, parts pooling and contracts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP software (TRAX preferred).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
