About the position

The position involves critical inventory analysis and program administration to support all customers and fleet types operated by Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo. The role focuses on optimizing the flow of unserviceable material into the repair cycle, managing multi-million dollar agreements, and ensuring efficient replenishment of aircraft materials. The individual will evaluate provisioning models and implement strategies to achieve operational and financial goals while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Manager in the development, execution, and management strategies for unserviceable parts management.
  • Identifies new component repair strategies and leads implementation in collaboration with Procurement and Component Repair teams.
  • Performs Repair vs Replace analysis to ensure the most economical supply of serviceable inventory.
  • Identifies warranty opportunities through the unserviceable disposition process and collaborates to claim credits for rotable repair spend accounts.
  • Reviews all invoices related to parts pooling agreements to ensure accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Administers a surplus/stale inventory process to ensure lean inventory holding and increased sales revenue.
  • Reviews history of component for removal times and repair history and communicates with reliability/engineering teams.
  • Responsible for planning and administration of material required to support aircraft maintenance.
  • Manages PBH/pooling agreements, maximizing utilization for pool components.
  • Allocates and strategically plans aircraft material requirements to ensure financial health and compliance.
  • Provisions for Station allocation based on various data sources.
  • Ensures timely completion of replenishment.
  • Uses Boeing math model to calculate optimal spare allocation and explains statistical output.
  • Oversees Loan and Delay review process and provides recommendations to mitigate delays.
  • Reads Engineering Orders, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives publications.
  • Performs cost-benefit analysis with Engineering for technology applicability.
  • Deactivates obsolete part numbers in the system and allocates aircraft parts accordingly.
  • Reviews recommendations to allocate critical parts based on usage and forecasted patterns.
  • Assigns reorder level requisitions to ensure timely and economic allocations.
  • Monitors department KPIs and provides feedback on negative trends to Management.
  • Communicates and resolves Aircraft material issues with various departments.
  • Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis, or Business Administration preferred.
  • 5+ years in Airline Supply Chain Management, Inventory Analysis, Material Planning, and/or Purchasing.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related aviation field such as Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations.
  • Deep knowledge in supply chain processes including component life cycle management and parts pooling.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP software (TRAX preferred).
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong business acumen.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a challenging workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multitasking environment with changing priorities.
