About the position

The Sr. Inventory Coordinator role is an on-site position located in Jacksonville, Florida, responsible for managing the spinal inventory dedicated to a specified sales area. This position involves tracking inventory and logistically securing the inventory for spine cases at hospitals and surgery centers in the local area surrounding the office. The Sr. Inventory Coordinator works closely with local sales managers and sales representatives to manage the assigned inventory and ensure optimal utilization of the systems. Acting as an "air traffic controller," this role dictates where the inventory needs to be directed, utilizing local Medtronic drivers, couriers, and other logistics services to cover surgical needs. In addition to inventory management, the Sr. Inventory Coordinator must understand current IT systems such as Excel, SAP, and PowerBi to manage, track, and analyze the performance of the assigned inventory. The role requires maintaining records and reporting for the regional office, updating the local sales team on corporate announcements and important information, and ensuring that all components are available for cases. The coordinator is also responsible for replenishing sets with needed implants and instruments, coordinating set delivery, and providing assistance and support to District Sales Managers and Sales Associates. This position is integral to the success of the regional office, requiring proactive reporting of progress to identify successes and areas for improvement. The Sr. Inventory Coordinator interacts frequently with peers, employees, upper management, and others, making it essential to have strong communication and organizational skills. The role is not open to remote work, emphasizing the importance of being on-site to effectively manage inventory and support surgical needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage spinal inventory dedicated to the specified sales area.
  • Track inventory and logistically secure inventory for spine cases at hospitals and surgery centers.
  • Work closely with local sales managers and sales representatives to manage assigned inventory.
  • Act as an "air traffic controller" for inventory needs, utilizing local drivers and couriers.
  • Understand and utilize IT systems (Excel, SAP, PowerBi) to manage and analyze inventory performance.
  • Maintain records and reporting for the regional office.
  • Update local sales team on corporate announcements and important information.
  • Ensure reconciliation, coordination, and closure for periodic counts of set inventory.
  • Maintain a master schedule for the use of inventory assigned to the regional office.
  • Locate inventory within the assigned region to support local case demand.
  • Replenish sets with needed implants and instruments.
  • Coordinate set delivery via FIA or courier services.
  • Provide assistance and support to District Sales Managers and Sales Associates.
  • Maintain office supplies and process incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Coordinate target setting to ensure maximum performance of assigned inventory.
  • Act as a liaison between field inventory logistics team and sales team.
  • Coordinate new set build deployments with inventory support team.
  • Proactively report progress of the office to identify successes and improvements.
  • Interact with peers, employees, upper management, and others frequently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • SAP and/or production planning order management software experience.
  • Medical device inventory management, materials management, and/or supply chain management experience.
  • Logistics and shipment coordination experience.
