About the position

As a Senior Inventory Operations Analyst within Target's Indirect and Reverse Logistics (IRL) team, you will play a crucial role in managing the inbound throughput and placement of indirect materials necessary for the operation of Target stores and distribution centers. This position is integral to ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right locations efficiently, thereby supporting Target's mission of providing joy and convenience to its guests. Your responsibilities will include aiding in the documentation of current state operations and providing recommendations to optimize IRL capabilities associated with highly visible company-wide initiatives such as New Stores, Remodels, Special Projects, and Transitions. You will execute a process and best practice documentation strategy across IRL Inventory Management and Supplier Performance Management. Engaging with partners supporting various project types, you will help develop requirements for future IRL capability enhancements. Your expertise will influence the future state vision and processes, as you share insights and learnings with partners across the organization. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cross-functional processes and routines that improve key performance indicator (KPI) metrics, while building and maintaining strong relationships with relevant upstream and downstream partners. The scope of work and job duties may change at any time based on business needs, requiring flexibility and adaptability in your approach to the role. This position operates under a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement, meaning that you will perform your core role both onsite at the Target HQ in Minnesota and virtually, depending on the requirements of your role, team, and tasks for that day.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in documentation of current state operations and provide recommendations to optimize IRL capabilities associated with company-wide initiatives.
  • Execute process and best practice documentation strategy across IRL Inventory Management and Supplier Performance Management.
  • Engage with partners supporting all project types to aid in developing requirements for future IRL capability enhancements.
  • Influence future state vision and processes by sharing expertise and learnings with partners.
  • Develop and implement cross-functional processes and routines that improve KPI metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant upstream and downstream partners.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field or Equivalent Experience.
  • Ability to identify the root cause of a problem, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously with degrees of variation and unpredictability.
  • Ability to collect and synthesize information from various teams to inform key stakeholders and partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in a role within Supply Chain, or where you worked cross-functionally with supply chain partners.
  • Ability to plan short-term and long-term workload and reprioritize based on business need.
