About the position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for maintaining and updating employee payroll records, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and assisting with payroll-related inquiries. This role involves collaboration with HR and business partners to analyze payroll processes and implement effective solutions. The specialist will also prepare payroll reports and stay updated on best practices in payroll management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates or deductions.
• Review and verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll-related compliance, including tax filings and audits.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and related benefits.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate reporting of employee hours and leave balances.
• Prepare payroll reports for management as needed.
• Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of payroll software systems.
• Document and map business processes and requirements for payroll and time and attendance solutions.
• Identify and understand the end user's needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and practices.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
