About the position

This position leads analytic efforts, delivers strategic insight, and acts as a technical expert for business systems within First Citizens Bank. The role performs at the highest level of service complexity in support of system operations, performance, and usage. The successful candidate will develop advanced solutions and specifications to resolve process issues, which may involve elements of testing and development. This position serves as a resource to wider business units or associates and may provide a leadership role for less experienced analysts. The role will interface with business, other application development teams within IT, as well as various shared services organizations and infrastructure areas. The resource will be part of Treasury IT, supporting the continued build-out of investments, cash management, and payments capabilities at First Citizens Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Sources, compiles, and interprets data, performing data analysis at the most advanced level and effectively communicating and directing analysis output.
  • Determines system requirements and communicates them through specifications, reports, project plans, or other forms of documentation, resolving complex factors that affect system processes.
  • Enables strategic insight into business systems through reports to senior management, evaluating systems based on data analysis, user input, and extensive testing.
  • Provides expert technical support for systems by responding to inquiries, ensuring processes run smoothly, and continuously improving the end-user experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Systems Support, Analytics, or Operational Support OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Systems Support, Analytics, or Operational Support.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze business requirements and determine processing flow, user needs, and inter-dependencies of multiple information systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and break down components to identify root causes.
  • Ability to work independently, be fully accountable, and provide creative solutions as required.
  • Experience with SDLC and agile methodology is expected.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a history of active engagement with business partners and stakeholders.
  • More than 10 years of experience as a business analyst with knowledge of treasury business areas, cash management, and liquidity functions.
  • Technical skills using SQL (SQL server) is a must.
  • Experience working with data management projects, including data analysis, data governance, data quality, and lineage.
  • Experience in agile and iterative environments, including running scrum projects as a scrum master and/or product owner.
  • Experience in implementing UMR (Unclear margin regulation) and Basel III is preferred.
  • Financial industry experience with functional knowledge of financial instruments like derivatives, FX trades, swaps, caps, cash, etc.

  • Experience with Quantum, Swift, Aladdin, Clearwater, Chatham Financials, Pinnacle, QRM.
