About the position

The Sr IT Healthcare Project Manager will work independently to manage and coordinate multiple, complex project plans, including implementation schedules and resource estimates. This role provides project leadership and direction for entity-based teams, responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating technology and implementation activities on an enterprise-wide level in applications development and for application system installations. The position involves coordinating activities of entity-based project teams, identifying appropriate corporate and entity resources needed to staff the team, and developing schedules and project plans as well as risk identification, change management, communication planning, and integration planning. The manager will lead projects of varying degrees of complexity, overseeing the activities of other resources and maintaining close working relationships with leadership, customers, and vendor representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, design and implement installation or technology system expansions ensuring proper resources are in place.
  • Conduct pre and post-sale scope calls to initiate or confirm resource planning needs.
  • Identify, evaluate and facilitate cost-benefit analysis for clients.
  • Assemble Request for Proposals and assist with business case documentation.
  • Work with customers and technology leaders regarding changes to project scope.
  • Coordinate interactions with internal departments in procurement, sales, services, and support.
  • Provide direction for clients, staff, and vendors to resolve project-related problems.
  • Facilitate necessary internal and external meetings and prepare status reports.
  • Develop, follow, share, and teach standards and project methodologies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship for other project resources.
  • Work closely with leaders to ensure proper project execution.
  • Prepare, maintain and submit management reports.
  • Execute projects and programs leveraging project planning resources and tools.
  • Oversee work performed by certified project managers and consultants as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Project Management or Business Management, or 6+ years related experience.
  • 6+ years of escalating project management experience in healthcare or business setting.
  • PMP certification is required.
  • ScrumMaster certification is required.
  • ITIL V3 Foundation Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies and best practices.
  • Goal orientation and action-focused with strong project planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent communication, team motivation, and delegation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
  • Strong dedication to quality customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Epic/EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology systems.
