About the position

The Sr. IT Infrastructure and Security Project/Program Manager at Allison Transmission is responsible for managing complex portfolio projects and ongoing enhancements within the IT EPMO. This role involves overseeing project managers, ensuring quality and timely project implementations, and collaborating across the company to drive business adoption. The position requires strong leadership, vendor management, budget oversight, and adherence to project management principles to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to ATI badged Project Managers and Vendor Project Managers.
  • Manage projects, consultants, and project resources to ensure delivery according to scope, design, budget, and timelines.
  • Oversee resource forecasting, planning, and work assignment allocations.
  • Manage vendors and implementation project resources in a highly outsourced environment.
  • Collaborate on the RFP/RFQ process and manage the Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) process.
  • Ensure alignment and approval for project execution through IT Steering committee sessions.
  • Manage deliverables for the Purchasing Sourcing Process and Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Report on the status of Pre-Project and Project Initiation phase activities to management.
  • Collaborate with vendors to draft SOWs/Change Orders and manage vendor labor cost negotiations.
  • Proactively manage project budgets and provide monthly budget forecasts.
  • Guide and coach project managers on ATI processes for delivery and manage project dependencies.
  • Facilitate project level risk/decision sessions and manage stakeholder expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in progressive Program/Project and IT Management roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in Program/Project level management of IT Infrastructure and Security Projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and vendor project delivery resources.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience with IT integrators.
  • PMP or SCM Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Agile framework and Scrum techniques.
  • Ability to provide technical support for IT Infrastructure and Security projects.
