About the position

The Senior IT Manager, Finance and Accounting is responsible for overseeing the Finance and Accounting systems and services, utilizing both SaaS and on-premise applications. This role involves providing strategic leadership for the digital transformation of financial systems from Oracle EBS to Fusion Financials, while collaborating with business leadership to ensure effective governance and compliance. The position also includes managing a team, ensuring performance management, and driving continuous improvement in financial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT Finance and Accounting business applications team to provide strategy, implementation, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, performance, and scheduling for a team of four people.
  • Own all system configurations, integrations, workflows, reporting, and analytics in Finance and Accounting.
  • Participate in and provide strategic leadership in cross-functional programs/projects.
  • Analyze, document, and communicate changes, designing and developing solutions that consider the overall impact on business processes and integrations.
  • Provide service level management including SLAs, incident and enhancement ticket management, and delivery of smaller projects.
  • Partner with development, integration, and testing teams to produce quality solutions and timely results.
  • Conduct quarterly patch evaluations, analyze new or changed functionality, and develop test plans and coordinate testing activities with business users.
  • Participate in M&A activities and understand the impact on current business processes and integrations.
  • Work with cross-functional business groups to lead and execute integration plans.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a people leadership/management role responsible for IT Finance and Accounting business applications team.
  • Expertise in the implementation and support of ERP applications, especially Oracle EBS, including leading a digital transformation to Cloud (Fusion Financials/Oracle Cloud).
  • Experience in utilizing and managing SaaS applications in the Finance area.
  • Proven ability to serve as an advisor to the business and comfortable challenging requests.
  • Self-motivated, directed, and change-oriented.
  • Ability to communicate concepts clearly and concisely to management and cross-functional teams, both verbally and in writing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or Information Technology from an accredited university.

  • Prior consulting experience is a plus.
  • Local to the Birmingham area or willing to relocate upon hire (from within the USA).
