About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager will oversee the cutover and deployment phases of critical application projects, ensuring effective management of complex IT implementations and transitions. This role requires a PMP-certified professional with a strong background in application management and enterprise-level project coordination, utilizing MS Project for tracking deliverables and resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans focusing on cutover activities and application deployment.
• Utilize MS Project to schedule, track progress, and manage dependencies, risks, and resource allocation across multiple teams.
• Establish critical cutover timelines and ensure execution aligns with project goals and business objectives.
• Lead end-to-end cutover processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams for smooth transitions.
• Define detailed cutover plans, including risk mitigation strategies, rollback plans, and quality assurance processes.
• Conduct readiness assessments, dry runs, and simulation exercises to identify potential issues before go-live.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including IT leadership, business units, and external vendors.
• Provide regular status updates, highlighting key achievements, risks, and necessary adjustments to the project plan.
• Facilitate project meetings, including steering committee and status review sessions.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact project cutover and application deployment.
• Maintain a log of issues, track resolution progress, and escalate unresolved matters to senior management as needed.
• Document all project processes, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with IT quality assurance to implement best practices in change management.
• Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and accountability for project deliverables.
• Mentor and train project team members on best practices for project execution and deployment.

Requirements

• PMP certification required; additional certifications (ITIL, Agile, Six Sigma) preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in IT project management with a focus on application deployment and cutover processes.
• Proficient in MS Project, as well as other project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
• Solid understanding of application management, system integration, and cutover best practices.
