About the position

The position at CommonSpirit Health involves leading the design, development, and support of functional applications and information support processes. The role requires interaction with the user community to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, while also assisting in strategic planning and initiatives. The individual will be responsible for managing complex projects, developing test plans, and ensuring effective communication across teams to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver or lead the design, development, support, and maintenance of functional applications.
  • Interact with the customer user community to secure business requirements and perform technical requirements translation.
  • Assist business and IT leadership with strategic planning and initiatives.
  • Develop or lead test plan development for new application functionality.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and provide guidance on function testing.
  • Lead resolution of high complexity issues or requests requiring technical expertise.
  • Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, and critical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Complete tasks and documentation within committed timeframes and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Lead technical analysis discussions and assist with conducting review sessions for approvals.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge management artifacts and lead transition to operations functions.
  • Lead Product Release management functions, including developing and performing test plans.
  • Develop overall project task lists, estimates, and resource plans for complex solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members and operational support teams.
  • Lead continuous process improvement activities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor deviations from service level agreements (SLAs) and escalate issues to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Medical, Business discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT as an Application Systems Analyst or Technical Analyst role.
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience required.
  • 2 or more relevant technical/professional security certifications preferred.
  • Excellent writing/documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Experience working with project life cycle or project management methodologies.
  • 6 or more years of application support, implementation, or development experience in a hospital or medical-related industry required.
  • Expert level understanding of structured deployment and implementation life cycles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Visio.
  • Operational knowledge of interfaces/EDI, APIs, and evolving technology.
  • Ability to lead discussions with application and project teams to define testing scenarios and scripts.
