About the position

The Sr IT Project Manager - Audit and Compliance at Mattel is responsible for managing a portfolio of IT projects focused on implementing Audit and Compliance capabilities. This role involves working closely with senior leadership, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. The position requires strategic vision and leadership to drive successful IT solutions that align with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of IT projects and initiatives related to Audit and Compliance.
  • Complete audit engagement assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Identify risks related to processes, regulatory compliance, and technology, and evaluate control design adequacy.
  • Ensure audit issues are well-defined and communicate recommendations for improved controls to management.
  • Lead planning, scoping, execution, and reporting of regulatory compliance audits.
  • Maintain contact with management regarding audit scope, status, and findings.
  • Meet time and staffing budgets for assigned audits.
  • Prepare work papers that document work performed and support conclusions.
  • Conduct follow-up validation of findings.
  • Identify scope, schedule, and budget required to remediate audit and compliance issues.
  • Establish and implement reporting framework for tracking audit and compliance metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Facilitate collaboration between IT and business units to ensure project alignment with business needs.
  • Oversee risk management and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and provide regular updates on program status.
  • Champion change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of project/program management experience with a proven track record of successful IT program delivery.
  • 7+ years of auditing/audit remediation experience.
  • Relevant financial services industry knowledge, particularly in Regulatory Compliance & Operations.
  • Thorough understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of program and project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience in change management and driving organizational transformation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello).
  • Experience in managing project budgets of $3-10M.
