About the position

The Sr. IT Project Manager at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Leadership Team and the Project Management Office to secure the necessary resources for project support and to manage the organizational changes required to meet project objectives. This position is pivotal in maintaining budgetary constraints and realizing the benefits of various projects. The Sr. IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing enterprise projects that significantly impact technology, which includes developing work plans, managing resources, and ensuring that project deliverables are met, including post-go-live project measurements and communication plans. In this role, the Sr. IT Project Manager will create and manage projects through all necessary gateways, ensuring that all project elements are delivered effectively. A key responsibility is to deliver a clear communication plan to all stakeholders, business owners, and team members, which encompasses decisions, risks, scope creep, and deliverables. The individual will monitor overall project progress, including timelines, resources, risks, and decisions, ensuring that projects stay on track and within scope. Collaboration is essential, as the Sr. IT Project Manager will work closely with performance improvement and IT analysts throughout all phases of the project. Additionally, this role includes mentoring other project managers and participating in governance activities to ensure that project management standards are upheld across the organization. The position is remote eligible, but the individual must be able to be onsite at the request of leadership, and a valid driver's license is required for potential travel needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Enterprise projects that impact technology, including work plans, resource management, and project deliverables.
  • Create and manage projects through all gateways while ensuring all project elements are delivered.
  • Deliver a clear communication plan to all stakeholders, business owners, and team members, including decisions, risks, scope creep, and deliverables.
  • Monitor overall project progress, including timeline, resources, risks, and decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with performance improvement and IT analysts through all phases of the project.
  • Mentor other project managers.
  • Participate in governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, healthcare, or a related field with 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience and/or knowledge with Electronic Medical Records (EMR's) or similar Healthcare Information Technology.
  • Thorough knowledge of information systems and their application to healthcare, with the ability to creatively use existing resources for problem resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to focus detailed effort on multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to effectively respond to time-sensitive issues and meet deadlines.
  • Mastery of desktop applications, including MS Office (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and database management applications.
  • Proven experience in training others in project management techniques.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse constituencies within the healthcare continuum.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies, regulations, and healthcare practices.
  • Ability to work well in a team, build relationships with stakeholders across different levels of the organization, and manage risks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, or similar in Information Technology, healthcare, or a related field.
