About the position

The Sr. IT Project Manager at PacifiCorp is responsible for managing the development and implementation of Information Technology projects. This role involves leading a project team, establishing project milestones, negotiating timelines, and ensuring successful delivery of multiple software and infrastructure projects. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders to meet project success criteria while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IT project team to meet identified project success criteria.
• Manage project phases, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and monitoring.
• Successfully deliver multiple and simultaneous software/infrastructure projects and act as the single point of contact.
• Define project scope and objectives.
• Evaluate and define appropriate ownership responsibilities for projects.
• Act as an expert project consultant and provide strategic advice for effective IT business processes.
• Interface with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
• Manage project budget and ensure proper documentation and controls are in force and effective.
• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Manage the integration of vendor tasks, review vendor deliverables, and mitigate potential risks.
• Provide effective management and oversee large, complex IT projects with budgets over $10 million.
• Proactively understand stakeholders' priorities, requirements, and operational impacts.
• Manage expectations and lead the team towards successful completion of deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of seven years of related experience in project management.
• Analytical and evaluation skills to define critical tasks and establish logical sequences of events.
• Project management skills to develop and monitor work agreements and budgets.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate team efforts and communicate project objectives.
• Financial modeling skills to quantify costs and benefits and maintain project budgets.
• Expertise in project management techniques and applicable policies, procedures, and laws.
• Proficiency in technical applications and software such as Microsoft Project.
