About the position

The Sr. IT Project Manager will oversee the modernization of a Point of Sale (POS) and ticketing system for a client in the hospitality/global attractions industry. This role involves managing a 3rd party vendor, aligning stakeholders, and driving the project to completion. The position requires a strong understanding of project management methodologies, particularly a blend of agile and waterfall, and excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute against a comprehensive and well-documented project plan with timelines, resources and activities.
  • Liaise with Business stakeholders to establish a clear project scope, list of project objectives, and measurements for success.
  • Monitor and control project progress, risks, decisions and issues, with comprehensive documentation.
  • Act as the main point of communication for all upstream and downstream stakeholders, with scheduled status reports, steering meetings and vendor calls as well as accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate the procurement, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure and hardware devices required for the system rollout.
  • Conduct site assessments to ensure readiness for hardware installation and provide onsite support as needed.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to develop, configure and customize the system and interfaces to meet business requirements.
  • Oversee testing of solution, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate system functionality and usability.
  • Manage change requests, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the business.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices for future reference and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Project Management in an IT environment.
  • A strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
  • Previous experience leading a rollout of a POS solution or similar attraction software.
  • Familiarity with the hospitality industry and associated system applications is desired.
