About the position

The Sr IT Project Manager will oversee energy analysis and settlements within the Wholesale Power and Transmission Accounting organization. This role involves managing the confirmation, reconciliation, and settlements of energy transactions, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and reporting. The position requires strong analytical skills and familiarity with the competitive wholesale electricity marketplace, particularly CAISO settlements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checkout of transactions related to power bi-lateral, natural gas, and/or CAISO MRTU.
  • Prepare gas purchase and pipeline reconciliation and settlements.
  • Prepare Power settlements checkout.
  • Prepare CAISO MRTU settlements.
  • Prepare weekly settlements to accurately reflect for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger entries.
  • Responsible for month end General Ledger estimates and eventual actuals as CAISO settles the previous month.
  • Dispute resolution of deal discrepancies.
  • Perform other energy accounting reconciliation and reporting as assigned.
  • Perform regulatory reporting as required.
  • Maintain standardized counter party checkout documentation files with the information to satisfy audit requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from both internal and external auditors during their audit engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with one to three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel spreadsheet software and MS Word processing software.
  • Familiarity with the competitive wholesale electricity marketplace and knowledge of CAISO settlements.
