About the position

The Sr. IT Project Manager will lead and coordinate the deployment of a new Point of Sale (POS) solution, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with clients and third-party stakeholders. The role requires a strong understanding of project management methodologies, particularly a blend of agile and waterfall approaches, to successfully implement infrastructure, policies, and processes aligned with the new system.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan with timelines, resources, and activities.
  • Liaise with business stakeholders to establish project scope, objectives, and success measurements.
  • Monitor and control project progress, risks, decisions, and issues with comprehensive documentation.
  • Act as the main communication point for all stakeholders, providing scheduled status reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate procurement, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure and hardware for the system rollout.
  • Conduct site assessments for hardware installation readiness and provide onsite support as needed.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to develop, configure, and customize the system to meet business requirements.
  • Oversee testing of the solution, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate functionality and usability.
  • Manage change requests and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Utilize industry best practices throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents for successful implementation.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices for future reference.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Project Management in an IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
  • Previous experience leading a rollout of a POS solution or similar software.
  • Familiarity with the hospitality industry and associated system applications is desired.
