About the position

The Sr. IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of assigned projects, managing all stages of the project life cycle from initiation to completion. This role requires a highly organized leader who can multitask in a fast-paced environment, prepare reports for upper management, and manage two to three medium to large projects simultaneously. The position emphasizes creativity and the ability to plan and accomplish team goals effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management functions for IT teams to deliver scalable and flexible solutions.
  • Manage full project life cycle ownership from initiation to closing.
  • Plan and manage multiple complex technical projects according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate project kick-off, planning activities, and team meetings.
  • Define project scope and objectives, managing changes effectively.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans to drive efficiency.
  • Maintain project documentation and artifacts.
  • Identify and resolve risks and issues impacting project deliverables.
  • Provide status reporting on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Coordinate activities and deliverables across IT, business, and external vendors.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members.
  • Establish practices, templates, policies, and tools for the IT PMO.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems management, computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience as a Project Manager or in a project leadership role.
  • Project Management experience within Information Technology, Software Development, or Technical Engineering industry preferred.
  • Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Data Integration and ETL Processes, SQL, Python, and Power BI in a public cloud setting.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FERPA, GLBA, DoE Blue Book, Accreditation Standards).
  • Experience with PPM tools.
