About the position

The Sr. IT Systems Analyst position at NiSource is a full-time, permanent role that operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring two days on location. This role is pivotal in participating in the design solutions for IT applications, which includes gathering requirements, writing technical specifications, configuring systems, and performing testing for application support within the assigned department. The Sr. IT Systems Analyst will report directly to the Manager of IT Applications and will be responsible for ensuring that IT services adhere to the agreed Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) and defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position demands strong coordination and communication skills to effectively collaborate with business partners and IT service providers. In this role, the analyst will drive the performance of IT service providers, providing enhanced guidance for technical problem support and issue management. A critical aspect of the job is to ensure that proper systems documentation is reviewed, approved, and maintained in the repository of record by service providers. Additionally, the Lead IT Systems Analyst will have responsibilities for coaching and training team members around application-level support, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to ITIL best practices. The position also emphasizes the importance of developing and maintaining relationships with key end users, identifying LEAN opportunities, and driving measurable continuous improvement initiatives. The analyst will support both service providers and internal teams in achieving their Service Level Agreements, ultimately contributing to high customer satisfaction scores among business partners and end users. Keeping systems documentation up to date, including Application Performance Management (APM), is also a key responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and IT service providers to ensure timely resolution of systems issues, or escalate as appropriate.
  • Participate in the solution of designs for small to medium size capabilities, upgrades, and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key end users.
  • Identify LEAN opportunities and drive measurable continuous improvement.
  • Support Service Provider and internal team achievement of Service Level Agreements.
  • Ensure high/improving customer satisfaction scores for business partners and end users.
  • Ensure systems documentation is kept up to date, including APM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT systems level support such as service ownership (ITIL methodologies) or similar job duties.
  • 5+ years of experience in the application technology domain.
